The Abel Tasman Art Prize is an opportunity for students in years 11 and 12 at schools and colleges throughout Tasmania. It’s a chance to enter your artwork or design concepts and win a trip to The Netherlands, the home of Van Gogh and Mondrian. The winner will receive three weeks visiting the region of Grootegast with visits to some of the great galleries of European art in Amsterdam.
After you complete the entry form on the front page of this website you will be invited to submit your artwork or design ideas for exhibition in December where the winner is selected by a panel of artists and designers. The winner will experience three weeks in The Netherlands with a host family.
The ATAP is a partnership between Kingborough Council, Calvin Christian School and the Dutch Australia Society (Abel Tasman Inc). It was initiated by the Dutch Australia Society (Abel Tasman Inc) in 2000 to celebrate the bonds between The Netherlands and Tasmania, and to foster a relationship between the municipalities of Grootegast and Kingborough.
